  • April 11-13, 2007, Perugia, Italy
International specialized course on Modelling and Control of Wastewater Treatment Plants

The objective of the proposed course is to give a convincing answer to the question why control WWTPs.
Detailed information on biomass activity is necessary for a correct design and management of biological
wastewater treatment plants. It is also important to know how biomass activity varies in response to changes
in process conditions or influent wastewater characterisation. Among the different techniques which are available for the on-line monitoring of biological activity, in recent years respirometry is becoming more and more widespread.

    International Workshop on Water Security
The Standards Institution of Israel is pleased to announce an international workshop on
Water Security. No international standard currently exists for water security. Due to the current global situation in which
there is a significant growth in water use on the one hand and a dwindling in suitable water sources on the other,
action must be taken, and standards can be part of it. Recent large-scale disasters ranging from tsunamis and hurricanes

    11th Aachener Membran Kolloquium (AMK)

This conference is a forum for industrial membrane applications in Germany and Europe.
In about 20 talks given by invited referees, mostly commercial industrial membrane applications
and experience in operation thereof are presented and discussed. It provides a platform where
membrane developers, producers and customers meet.
The colloquium will cover a wide range of classical as well as innovative membrane technology applications
    in industrial process, waste and drinking water treatment; food and beverage industry;
process industry and applications in life science.

First Joint Workshop of the European Projects Reclaim Water – Gabardine

The objective of ‘Gabardine’ is to identify alternative sources of water to be artificially recharged
and to investigate the feasibility, both environmental and economical, of their utilization.
‘Reclaim Water’ proposes reclaimed municipal wastewater as water alternative source,
and has the objective of developing hazard mitigation technologies for water reclamation,
providing safe and cost effective routes for artificial groundwater recharge.
Both projects, Gabardine and Reclaim Water, are closely related and this Joint Workshop
will enable a closer communication and allow attendants sharing knowledge and information.
An overview of the work done in both projects will be given in the workshop. Besides, internationally well-known experts in the field will be invited and will give their views on the aquifer recharge tool.
